CODAA Report

I’m sure you will be happy to know that the District and CODAA Collective Bargaining teams have reached an agreement on all elements of Compensation, Performance Evaluations, and Health & Welfare benefits for CODAA constituents.  This agreement covers 2 Academic Years 2019-20 and 2020-2021.

On behalf of the Association, I would like to say “Thank you” to President Kinnamon, and the District Negotiating Team:  Vice Presidents Jeff Baker and John Ramont, Deans Amanda Phillips, Karen Tabor, and Kelly Hall and Interim Fiscal Services Director, Virginia Ortega, for their dedication and participation during this process.

The past 14 months have been challenging, intense, and, certainly, an ongoing test of both patience and negotiating skill.  Now, those robust discussions are behind us and the outcomes are fair.  Congratulations to all!

The CODAA membership has overwhelmingly voted to ratify the agreement.  We urge the Board to do the same.

For the next negotiating session which should begin in a few months, CODAA will submit to reopen the Article pertaining to Adjunct Rehiring practices.   Because there have been several instances where the language of our current agreement has been interpreted in very creative ways, we seek to eliminate the ambiguity by carefully revisiting each word.

CODAA would like to also say Thank you to our VP of Instruction, Dr. Annebelle Nery for taking a leading role in quickly solving each of the Adjunct seniority issues.

Lastly, we Congratulate the District for finishing the 2018-2019 Fiscal year with a budget surplus.  Very impressive results, especially after John Ramont struggled for nearly a year with dire predictions of a significant budget deficit.  We hope and pray that the current year’s finances will be easier for Administrative Services to manage.
